According
to Helen Burton, a certified coach, emotional eating is common for
women in their mid-thirties, forties and fifties.
"Women often reach to food as a
comfort, but what they really need is nurturing," said Burton.
Burton is a certified coach who helps individuals get off the
diet-merry-go-round and develop a plan for a purposeful future.
She founded Love Yourself Coaching in 2001, to meet the ongoing
need creating healing and better lives by empowering others.
She share with others some tools
and techniques that can help individuals once and for all change
their thinking, behaviors and live the life they want to live
instead of just dreaming about it.

After
a successful career as a facilitator and administrator in New
Jersey, Helen J. Burton focused on her passion for helping others
by developing Love Yourself Coaching in 2001.
Having seen so many people –
including herself - struggling to face recovery beyond the 12-step
programs, she realized many needed more to go on to lead
productive lives.
Through one-on-one and group
coaching, as well as workshops, she helps clients find a new focus
for the rest of their lives by helping them develop a purposeful
plan. This plan helps clarify the highest priorities by defining
specific action steps to enhance recovery.
Coaching focuses on helping people who already have a measure of
success in their lives, but who want to bridge the gap between
where they are and where they want to be in their profession and
their personal life. This measure of success for the addictive
client is his or her abstinence from an addictive nature, and a
stabilized place of safety. With coaching, this safe place becomes
a place of expectation and amazing potential, instead of mere
functioning.

Here are some suggested ideas that Helen can
speak about:
-
Addiction: It’s More Than Sex
and Drugs. Although sex and drugs, including alcohol, get
all the media play, the truth is there are literally thousands
of addictions in the world: from eating and computer use to
gambling and shopping. Let Helen explain what an addiction
really is – and how to identify if a loved one may have one.
-
Empowerment for Shy
Individuals. Being shy can hurt a person both personally and
professionally. Helen shares tips to help break through shyness
to get what you really want from life.
-
It’s About Time. Helen is
a time management pro who helps others learn to face the clock
to have more productive lives. She supports others in
discovering techniques to help beat the time wasters and become
more efficient.
-
Learning to Accept YOU.
Women often compare themselves to others who seem to have it
all. Helen explains why it’s not only self-defeating to think
this way, but also doesn’t help people to discover their unique
gifts.
Additional Ideas:
-
Developing a plan to achieve any
goal
-
What you can learn from your
children
-
Surviving the holidays
-
Facing a future when you’ve
faced addiction
