Love Yourself - IT MATTERS!
Solutions For Enjoying The Beach
Are you thinking, "No way will
I wear a bathing suit this summer and go to the beach." You are
not alone! There are so many people who have this thought and
blame themselves for not losing the weight over the winter so they
can wear a bathing suit.
Thinking this way is living in the problem instead of the
solution. You might be thinking there is NO solution to this
problem. Let's spend some time brainstorming ways of enjoying time
at the beach.
-
Buy a bathing suit that feels
comfortable and a pretty cover-up.
-
Go to the beach early in the
morning or later in the day when it is less crowded. It is
usually cooler and you won't feel as uncomfortable.
-
While on the beach take a
mini-vacation for the day by swimming in the ocean, relaxing,
reading a good book and enjoying yourself. You deserve it!
-
Meet a friend at the beach
and have lunch at an outside café.
-
Take a walk on the beach at
sundown so you don't have to wear a bathing suit.
The most important thing to
remember is that you are a very special person. Be sure to take
precautions when sitting in the sun. Enjoy!

Golden Opportunities
A few years ago I heard a motivational speaker say, "Focus on what you
have instead of what you don’t have." I always remembered this comment
and have recently been using this simple concept. Honestly sometimes it
is very difficult to stop focusing on the fact Bob is gone and I am
alone. Being kind to myself, I give myself permission to think about how
my life has changed, share with friends and force myself to write a
grateful list. After sharing with others and writing the grateful list,
I start to feel better and focus on what is working in my life.
Following are some of the tools and techniques my clients and I put into
practice when we find ourselves focusing on things we don't have,
instead of thinking about what we do have.
-
Take five minutes out of your day
and think about the good things in your life.
-
Send yourself an email at the end
of the day bragging about your accomplishments.
-
Acknowledge yourself for eating one
or two healthy meals or eating healthy for the entire day.
-
Daydream about a dream or goal you
put on hold and now pursue it.
-
Look for and take advantage of the
new opportunities that are presenting themselves daily.
Have a great month and enjoy your opportunities and gifts!
