Lately, I was thinking of ways to change my thoughts in a more intentional way. I realized my thoughts have a mind of their own, but at the same time I was in control. The best part was having a choice to believe what I was thinking as the honest truth or realizing it was a thought that might not be true.

Here was my chance to make some changes.

Making changes takes me days. I think, write and brainstorm ideas with my coach. Then all of a sudden ideas start to pop into my head.

My new routine of when a thought pops into my head:

  • Blink my eyes and say out loud, "That is an interesting thought."

  • Ask myself if the thought is really true or unrealistic.

  • If it is not true; thank the thought and say out loud what is really happening.

  • If it is true and a problem; thank the thought and ask for a solution.

  • If it is a beautiful thought; keep thinking.

The funny part is even though I have been using the above tools for many years, you would think by now they would have become a habit. Sorry to say it does not work that way. We have to be constantly changing and becoming aware of what is happening.

Building a Business One Step At A Time

A desire to have a thriving business seems natural. We network, market our businesses and work constantly at trying new ways to promote ourselves. As a result, we are always thinking and taking action.

The only trouble of constantly focusing on growing your business is we forget to enjoy what we have right now. Maybe we don't have 20 clients that pay us $500 a month, but our clients are making big changes in their lives. We are part of a community helping individuals become who they want to be.

What beautiful gifts we are giving to others and ourselves.

So, take a cup of coffee or tea and make a list of the good things you have in your life. Recognize the fact you are a fantastic coach, living your passion and helping your clients take risks and move forward. What more could you ask for?

Take your thoughts of money and put them in a drawer for 2 hours and see how you feel.

If you are up for a challenge please repeat the affirmation below at least 5 times a day.

Affirmation: I will continue working on my business and won't let my ambitions keep me from recognizing the good things in my life.

    Remember that the mind does not work in a vacuum – you simply can’t erase a habit and leave an empty space; therefore you must replace the old habit with a new, more effective habit, that offers you greater satisfaction.

  2. How a coach can promote their services in a non-threatening
