One morning while working at my computer, I looked out the window to see a black bear (a real one) walking in my backyard. I was totally surprised and couldn't believe my eyes. It was truly a nice surprise!

I immediately called my neighbor to make sure her dog was inside. She was on the other line calling the police.

All my brave neighbors gathered in the middle of the street to watch him walking along our front lawns.

Minutes later three police cars arrived and we were told in no uncertain terms to go inside. I told the police to make sure the bear was not hurt and taken to a safe area. They looked at me like I was crazy.

All day I was so excited about seeing the bear and how things just happen.

Helen's Monthly Biz Tip

Recently, I was requested to complete an exercise that would indicate how many monthly clients would have to enroll in the Love Yourself Coaching programs for my company to make a higher income.

While the instructor was explaining this exercise I started to sweat and wanted to leave the room. No way did I want to complete the exercise. I was happy just going along assisting coaches in building prosperous businesses while loving themselves.

It gave me comfort to focus on building relationships instead of becoming a sales person. Reality set in and I realized that telling people about Love Yourself Coaching services was in a way selling. If I wanted my company to make a higher income I had to change my selling approach.

This was a rude awaking for me. What was I going to do to change my attitude?

Below are some of my thoughts:

  • It is a disservice to not offer the different Love Yourself Coaching programs. Telling people about the programs gives them an opportunity to make their own choice of either taking advantage or not.

  • My main focus can still be building relationships. There is no way could I just focus on people joining the programs and not connect with them while interacting.

  • Like Terri Levine said, "You are just offering someone a chocolate chip cookie and they may not want it for many reasons. It is just an offering."

  • I love to talk with people and this is a great opportunity.

  • As Eleanor Roosevelt said, "Do one thing every day that scares you." It gives you an opportunity to fulfill your goals.

  • Work with the Love Yourself Coaching Team to develop strategies and action steps to accomplish this goal. I don't have to do it alone!

  • Remember "Rome was not built in a day." It takes time to build a business.
