East Windsor author is flying high with the release of her
first book, Skyrocket Your
Business in 30 Days While Having Coffee with Helen.
Helen Burton, of East Windsor, held her first public book
signing Aug. 17 at Take 5 Gourmet Café in Robbinsville.
The novice writer has been a resident of East Windsor since
1986.
”I have a challenge for you. When you see someone smile . .
. say, ‘hello.’ (It makes) people feel good,” Ms. Burton
said, who is also a life coach, at the event.
Her book is a 30-day plan to help readers think in new
creative ways about the daily tasks every business owner
needs to focus on to grow a business, according to Ms
Burton’s Website.
”I’m an author myself. I like to support new authors,” said
Dori Seider, of Robbinsville. She added, “this place is like
a community center.”
”You can come and relax,” said Bernadette Mctamney, owner of
the Take 5 Gourmet Café.
”This is my favorite coffee shop, and I love Bernadette’s
coffee,” Ms. Burton said.
She spoke to audience members about personal enrichment and
business enhancement as outlined in her new book.
Ms. Burton also emphasized the importance of having a good
attitude and feeling good about oneself. She highlighted
that it takes courage to go on and continue with a business.
”Take time for yourself and take risks,” Mrs. Burton said.
Mrs. Burton began to transition to a career of life coaching
and away from a career with the state of New Jersey about
ten years ago. She had worked as a state contract
administrator and also as a team facilitator for the
Department of Environmental Protection.
She had been going to school to become an addiction
counselor, when she learned about life coaching. She
switched gears, left school, and pursued a coaching
certification from the Institute for Professional Excellence
in Coaching (iPEC.)
”I received my certification in 2002 and have been coaching
ever since.” She created her own company, Love Yourself
Coaching” in 2002.
”Our passion is bringing together smart, motivated
individuals who seek an environment where they can exchange
brilliant ideas and knowledge as well as strengthen their
instincts, and finally, obtain their business goals,” the
business’ mission statement reads.
Ms. Burton received her certification in coaching from iPEC
founder Bruce Schneider.
